Bristol Old Vic Theatre School Performances

On Saturday 9th Dec we are delighted to be hosting two magical performances in partnership with Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. Tickets are FREE but must be booked through the link below.

‘The Elves and The Shoemaker’

The year is 1915 and our injured shoemaker has returned from war but is struggling to recreate his magical footwear. In the fight to save ‘The Lost Soles Shoe Emporium’ a miniature mystery unravels. Will the shoemaker escape the clutches of the wicked Lady Thorne?! Enjoy this brand-new, festive imagining of the classic tale, with a truce in the trenches, a snapshot of suffrage, and enchanting music and puppetry.

Performance Time: 11am Location: Cutler’s Hall, Quakers Friars. Suitable for Ages 5+

‘While Shepherds Watched’

A young woman is expecting a baby, three wise men are researching the heavens, and two shepherd children are bored out of their heads minding the sheep – well nothing interesting ever happens around Bethlehem in December, does it? Get ready for Wise men, and not so wise men. Talking sheep, angels, a shepherd family, camels, a horrible Herod, and carols old and new, come together in this magical, comical retelling of the story of the very first Christmas.

Performance Time: 2pm Cutler’s Hall, Quakers Friars. Suitable for Ages 5+

These performances are a gift to the community from Cabot Circus and the students of The Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. Seating is limited and unreserved. Children may need to sit on the floor to make space for as many families as possible to be able to enjoy these special shows.
