Water-Activated mural in Quakers Friars
To mark the UN’s World Water Day on 22 March, Frank Water unveiled a stunning mural in Bristol city centre by artist and activist Jasmine Hortop to highlight fresh water’s crucial role.
Using special, water-activated hydrochromic paint on the top layer, the mural bursts into colour when wet, revealing a breathtaking scene of fresh water flowing through a natural landscape – lush trees and grasses flourishing, an abundance of wildlife and people benefitting from the life-giving force that sustains all life.
Supported by Cabot Circus, Upfest, Exhale Coffee and If Not Now Digital this innovative installation celebrates the life-giving power of water and the future it makes possible.

The mural will remain in Quakers Friars until 23rd April.
