Bristol ShopMobility Volunteer

Bristol ShopMobility is a small charity based in Cabot Circus Car Park, which provides a scooter/wheelchair loan service to enable people with access or mobility problems to use the shops and facilities in Bristol.

Due to long term staff sickness we are seeking volunteers to assist with the overall organisation and day to day running of the Bristol Shopmobility Scheme. We aim to reopen on 6th January 2025 and will need a team of people who can help us by giving a few hours of their time each week to help us to be able to continue our work for the next 6 months approximately.

Our opening hours are 10 until 5, Monday to Saturday and so any hours you can offer would be appreciated.  Expenses and training will be given and a DBS check will be carried out.

Ideally, a volunteer would undertake at least one of the following:

1. Meet and greet service users.

2. Establish and provide suitable equipment (after training).

4. Give guidance on the safe usage of equipment to service users.

5. Maintain equipment in a safe, clean and serviceable condition.

6. Maintain and update computer records (after training).

Of course you would need to be able:

1. To observe and work within the Health and Safety requirements

2. To follow and adhere to Bristol Shopmobility Equal Opportunities Policy

3. To be aware of and ensure compliance with all relevant Bristol Shopmobility policies, procedures, and statutory regulations.

Ideally applicants would commit to regular hours each week over a six month period.
